A Jugalbandi of Sacred Poetry & Music Wild Women

A dynamic creative dialogue between poet Arundhathi Subramaniam and musician Chitra Srikrishna, accompanied by Deepika Srinivasan on Mridangam was hosted by IME. Based on a Penguin anthology of Indian sacred poetry by women, this jugalbandi introduced audiences to some unforgettable women mystics of the subcontinent. The anthology, Wild Women: Seekers, Protagonists, and Goddesses in Sacred Indian Poetry, wove together voices of women across India, emphasizing a lineage of woman-centered spirituality.
