A new leadership heralds a new era for the Brigade Group

As part of the Brigade Group’s systematic succession planning, Pavitra Shankar and Nirupa Shankar were appointed as Managing Director and Joint Managing Director of the company, respectively.

Speaking on the developments, M R Jaishankar said, “The internal elevation of both Pavitra and Nirupa is in keeping with our overall strategy and well-thoughtout succession planning process. Both have played lead roles in the expansion and growth story of Brigade. I am confident that under their leadership, Brigade will continue to rise to even greater heights.”

Pavitra Shankar
With over 18 years of experience in consulting, private equity and real estate development, Pavitra Shankar is responsible for Brigade’s residential business strategy and growth, with a strong focus on customer experience and data analytics. She also spearheads the digital transformation of the company.

Pavitra is a Trustee of the Indian Music Experience and The Brigade Foundation, the not-forprofit trust of the Brigade Group. She is an industry thought leader, carving a niche for herself as one of the few female leaders in the construction and real estate industry. She was recently named amongst the 40 under 40 icons by Realty Plus.

Nirupa Shankar
With over 16 years of experience, Nirupa has been with Brigade since 2009, overseeing the company’s hospitality, office and retail portfolios. She also leads Public Relations (PR) and Innovation functions, and is a Trustee of the Brigade Foundation. In 2016, Nirupa set up Asia’s first real estate accelerator – Brigade Real Estate Accelerator Program (Brigade REAP), an initiative to mentor high-tech startups in real estate.

Nirupa Shankar was in the elite Economic Times 40 Under 40 2021 list of corporate India’s future leaders. Nirupa has successfully conceptualised and launched multiple award-winning F&B outlets such as HIGH Ultra Lounge and Glass Kitchen & Bar in Bangalore as well as Buzzworks, Brigade’s Coworking brand. Nirupa is a two-time TEDx speaker and a regular speaker at various top tier forums, conferences and think tanks. She is also a trained Six Sigma Black Belt and a triathlete.
