Indian Music Experience Fundraiser Concert
The Indian Music Experience (IME), India’s first interactive music museum, organised a fundraiser event on the 27th December 2015 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore. The event featured two special music concerts. The first, SAMARPAN, a tribute to Bharat Ratna M S Subbulakshmi in her centenary year, featured her popular songs. This interactive concert was presented by Manasi Prasad - Project Director, IME and also featured young musicians such as Sahana Ramachandra and Aditi Prahlad - Vocals, B K Raghu - Violin, Shadrach Solomon - Keyboard, B S Anand - Mridangam and Adarsh Shenoy - Tabla. The second concert was Naada Chitra Crossover Project, a unique coming together of Carnatic, Hindustani and Western music along with free-hand spontaneous painting. The concert featured Dr. Suma Sudhindra, Director - Outreach, IME on the Veena, Rakesh Chaurasia - Hindustani Flute, Ned McGowan - Western Key Flute, Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma and B C Manjunath - Mridangam and Karthik Mani - Drums, and artist B K S Verma created paintings that reflected the music. Union Minister for Fertilisers and Chemicals, Shri. Ananth Kumar and Sukanya Ravi Shankar, wife of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar were the guests at the event.
The IME is being setup with a vision to increase the understanding and appreciation of Indian Music from the traditional to the contemporary.
